Dear Sakurai Community,
We are pleased to share a 20 minute preview from our course Lie Groups with Applications. This lecture introduces the Cartan and KAK decompositions, with a particular emphasis on their role in quantum computing (QC). A good example of how these ideas apply to QC is the recent paper 'Recursive Cartan Decompositions for Unitary Synthesis'.
If you are more into machine learning, a preview on applications, such as geometric deep learning, will be available soon. In the meantime, you may find the recent paper 'Flow Matching on Lie Groups' interesting.
