NeurlPS 2024 Highlight: Unitary Convolutions for Learning on Graphs and Groups
The applications of Lie Groups & Lie Algebras.
Dear Sakurai Community,
The Neural Information Processing Systems Conference (NeurIPS) is the premier annual gathering for cutting-edge research in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and computational neuroscience. Each year, it brings together the world’s brightest minds to showcase transformative ideas and breakthroughs. This year’s conference features an impressive lineup, including OpenAI co-founder and former Chief Scientist, Ilya Sutskever, as a keynote speaker.
Among the most mathematically interesting highlights is the paper "Unitary Convolutions for Learning on Graphs and Groups" (Poster #93842) which presents a novel solution, leveraging unitary group convolutions.
Lie Groups & Applications (Early Bird Sign up)
The highlighted paper above requires a solid understanding of the mathematics of Lie Groups and Lie Algebras—topics that, despite their transformative potential, remain mathematically inaccessible to many AI researchers. To bridge this gap, we’re excited to announce our upcoming bootcamp course, Lie Groups & Applications, designed to demystify these concepts with a focus on their applications in both AI and Quantum Computing.
The course will be available on our e-learning platform starting January 22, 2025. As a special offer, Early Bird registration at 35% off is open until December 27th—right after Boxing Day!

Early bird sign-ups will also gain exclusive access to special preparatory sessions designed to review foundational topics, such as group theory, ensuring participants are well-equipped to start diving into the course material.
Have a spectacular week ahead!
Best wishes,
Bambordé
